June 17 Winnemucca, Nevada, to Evanston, Wyoming

We left much earlier than yesterday and so we arrived with more time
to relax. Nevada, and Utah west of Salt Lake City, were large and empty.
We mean to take a picture of the Great Salt Lake, but we never saw an
overlook or a visitors center. So we will snag a photo from the internet. We
continued on through Salt Lake City without stopping and continued on to
Evanston. The town has a statue and centotaph war memorial that reminds
us of the ones we saw in France. Don’t see that much in the U.S. Priscilla
Schmidt (Penny’s sister) sent us a link to a site listing gas prices throughout
the country. Penny has now mapped out pit stops all the way to Lexington,
Kentucky, and will do the rest tomorrow!
